Can I PR, and sub-4, a marathon at 48?
I've been quiet for a while. Too long, honestly. But I'm back, and I'm jumping in with both feet.
Starting next Tuesday (January 20), I'm beginning training for my 15th marathon - the Sugarloaf Marathon on May 17, 2026. And this time, I'm documenting the entire thing on YouTube.
Not the polished, filtered version. The real version.
Can I PR a marathon at 48? Can I go sub-4 when I wasn’t able to in my 30s? Can I do it without getting hurt?
I don't know yet. But I'm going to find out, and you're invited to come along for the ride.
I just posted my first video - it's short, it's a little (read: a lot) rough around the edges (first YouTube video ever), and it's honest.
Watch it here: https://youtu.be/SMjesTMA6YI
I'll be posting weekly updates throughout my 18-week training cycle. The workouts. The struggles. The adjustments. What works and what doesn't when you're training in your late 40s.
If you're training for something right now, thinking about it, or just curious what real marathon prep looks like - I hope you'll follow along.
Hope to see you out there! Gotta run,
Jess
